Built to make expert help feel within reach
Waterstone Legal began in 2014 with a small team and a straightforward frustration: legal help had become something people put off — too slow, too opaque, too expensive to even ask a question. Founder Shah Ali set out to bring City-standard property law within everyone's reach, starting from a single office in the Minories.
Twelve years on, we're a 20-strong firm across London and Leicester, trusted with more than 5,000 matters for clients in over 40 countries — from first homes and family matters to visas, disputes and commercial deals. Lenders put us on their panels; the Law Society accredits our conveyancing; our clients do the advertising.
What hasn't changed is how we work: a named solicitor from start to finish, honest fees agreed up front, and advice in plain English — or in the language you think in.
"We started Waterstone Legal because good legal advice had drifted out of reach. Twelve years on, the test for everything we do is still the same — would we be happy to be our own client?"
